I’ve written the kind of book a Hollywood producer optioned for film. I know what it takes to write fiction that moves people — and I know how to help you get there.
I’m Ruth E. Griffin — author of ten published books, award-winning fiction writer, and founder of Studio Griffin. I’ve been writing and publishing my own work since 2011, across romance, historical fiction, fantasy, and memoir. My novel Speak Tenderly To Her won the Latino Literacy Now Books Into Movies Award and was selected by a film producer for a option — the kind of recognition that only comes when a story genuinely works.
I’m also still writing. Right now. My low fantasy serial novel Stepmothers Anonymous is ongoing, and my writing instruction book The Writer Within releases July 1st. I’m not someone who edited once and stopped. I’m in the same trenches you’re in — building stories, solving problems, figuring out what works.
That’s what makes the difference.
When first-time fiction authors come to me, they usually arrive at the same place — manuscript finished, momentum stalled, unsure who to trust with something this personal. Some have already received advice from people who never read their book. Some are paralyzed by the gap between where their story is and where they know it could be.
I read everything. Every page. Because your story deserves an editor who understands what you actually built before suggesting how to strengthen it.
I offer developmental editing, copy and line editing, proofreading, and book coaching — including writing instruction for authors who want to deepen their craft alongside their current project. Every service is built around one goal: helping you finish with a book you’re genuinely proud of.
This is careful, invested, personal work. I take a limited number of clients at a time to make sure it stays that way.
If you’re ready to take your manuscript seriously, I’m ready to read it.
